The Most Important Person in Life

You only live a certain amount of time. You don’t know how much time is left for you. Maybe today you will go to sleep and never wake up. Today is maybe your last day on this beautiful world. You don’t know. Nobody knows.

Do you live a happy life or life full of regret?

We are the social creatures. We need to socialize with other people everyday. It’s in our nature. We are spending our time with other people and sharing our time with important people in our lives.

Who is important person to you? Your mom, dad, cousin, girlfriend? Of course they are important to you, but the real question is: Who is the most important person in your life?

When I asked my relatives and friends this question, the answers were different in one hand but in the other hand those answers were all the same.

“The most important persons in my life are my mom, my dad, my brother, my girlfriend, my best friend, etc.”

Do you notice something weird in those answers? At the first look, everything is correct with those answers and there is nothing wrong with them. When we look at them at the deeper level we can see that something is missing. One really important thing is missing from those answers. I could say that the most important thing is missing from those answers. Nobody mentioned I in those answers.

A lot of people care too much about other people that they forget to care about themself. People tend to care about other people feelings, what to say or what to do around other people, how to impress other people, how to be accepted from other people, how to not hurt other people, etc. They forget to treat themself right, to care about themself. #1) You are the most important person in life

You heard it right. You are the most important person in this life, in this universe. It may sound a little selfish but it is what it is. Yeah, your mom, dad, family, friends, girlfriend are important but not as important as you. You are your own reality. You should be in your center of everything.

#2) You need to put yourself first

As I mentioned, you are the most important person in life so you need to put yourself first. You need to put yourself as a priority #1. You need to meet your needs first. It’s not selfish that you have needs, everyone have their needs. The difference between a real man and everyone is that everyone won’t put their needs on the first place. Real man always put himself and his needs first. That is the way to succeed, that’s the way to pursue your goals and dreams. That’s the way of a winner. (Read: What Does Success Mean to You?)

#3) It is your life

In the end, it’s your life. You are on your own. Eventually one day your mom and dad will die, your friends will maybe become your worst enemy, you will break up with your girlfriend. Who’s left? You are the only one who’s left. You are living this life on your own. It’s your life and you can do whatever you want to do with your life. You have only one life. So why to live your life by rules from others. Live your life by your own rules. Be the king of your life.

To acquire that mindset you need time. There are some quotes which will help you to understand and to acquire that mindset.

  • “The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique.” – Walt Disney
  • My life is my message.” – Mahatma Gandhi
  • At some point in your life you have to just forget about everyone else and put yourself first.” – Unknown
  • To help yourself, you must be yourself. Be the best that you can be. When you make a mistake, learn from it, pick yourself up and move on.” – Dave Pelzer
